Nature-Based Wellbeing
Connection is at the core of wellbeing. Many of us have become disconnected from one of the greatest unifying entities of life: the Earth. Nature-based wellbeing sessions offer the opportunity to experience the grounding qualities of our natural environment and the horses through breath-work, art, mindfully grooming or working with the horses, or simply being in each other’s presence.
1 hour in-person session | £40
As all services are facilitated from the ground, carefully guided with no riding involved, you do not need any prior experience with horses. Sessions are conducted in all weather, except in hazardous conditions where safety could be compromised, so please come prepared with sturdy footwear and protective layers of clothing. There’s a high probability you will encounter mud!

The Windrose Journey: What can I expect in an Equine Facilitated session?
Much of your session will be outside with the horses or exploring our beautiful 20 acre setting. We will discuss your goals, aspirations (or perhaps the absence of them, which is absolutely OK) and your present challenges, including symptoms for Psychotraumatology clients, before exploring the themes that come up for you with the guidance of a single horse or the herd. All our interactions happen on the ground with no riding involved. No horse experience is required; if you are novice or even fearful of horses we will go as slowly and gently as you need.
Time will also be dedicated to exploring psychological education materials. Gaining an understanding of various psychological concepts can be an important part of the process for many people, supporting the discovery of meaning amidst experience. For some, equine facilitated interactions are a deeply spiritual experience, and they are also grounded in evidence-based psychology and neurobiology. To be an active, consenting participant and retain agency over your own growth, it is important that the process through which your development is guided will not remain a mystery to you.
Nature-Based Wellbeing
Nature-based wellbeing sessions are immersive and gentle, incorporating breath-work, observation and tactile experiences to ground you in the present moment. Connection time with the horses may include mindful grooming, walking with the herd, or positive reinforcement training.
